The Power of Images

January 22, 2014

The power of images is undeniable. A photo can immediately transport you back to a place and time in the past and flood your emotions as if it just happened.

In the same way, images can be potent in manifesting what you want to create for yourself, especially if those images evoke an emotional response every time you look at them.

Visualization is an incredible tool, but for some of us, being able to “see” a picture of something in our Mind’s eye can be difficult. Some of us are just more visual than others.

That’s when a tool, like a Vision Board, can be useful in tapping into that vision and emotion.

This will be my third year in making use of a Vision Board and I have to tell you, I am hooked!

Not only are they fun to make, but they are so inspiring, and, so powerful!

Vision Board 2013

Vision Board 2013

In reviewing my board for 2013, the areas that I connected with the most, those that had the most emotion and energy behind them, are those that have had the greatest shift.

There were a number of things that had huge intentions behind them:

  • To facilitate change in others
  • To meditate and connect with my spirit regularly
  • To be calm and centered at my core; and,
  • To launch my Chakra Energy Diagnostics Program

All of these areas have had huge gains and shifts. My Chakra Diagnostics Program has become my signature program and has proven to be transformational for so many of my clients. That is linked to my desire to facilitate change. But I first had to have a daily practice of self-care and being energetically balanced myself.

Do you see how it’s all tied together?

There are three reasons I believe this Vision Board was so much more transformational than the year before:

  1. I used the Feng Shui principles in laying out the board. If you’ve had any exposure to Feng Shui, you understand the energy or “Chi” behind it and may have experienced shifts in your own life as a result if you applied it to your home environment.
  2. I was conscious of capturing images that spoke to me on an emotional level so that every time I looked at the board I had an emotional response to it, time and time again.
  3. I created a plan to make it happen! I took action. The areas where I took even a little action had the biggest gains.

When I look at the first board I did, there’s very little on it that really connects with me. I can see how much I was trying to make myself be something I wasn’t, or at least, follow a path that didn’t really resonate with me at my core.

That was the year I placed a lot of focus on being a jewelry designer. I had just attended (by invitation) the American Music Awards Gift Show, shook hands with big name stars and had my day in Hollywood. And while some people dream of opportunities like that, it wasn’t who I was. I wanted to help change people’s lives, not just make them feel prettier or make it big in Hollywood.

The Vision Board I created last year was so different. That one was like an extension of my spirit. It felt really good.

If you’re in the San Diego, CA area, this Saturday you have an opportunity to create your own Vision Board in a fun, creative way, surrounded by other like-minded souls at my “Your Best Year Yet! – a Vision Board Workshop“!

We’ll use art as the foundation, plus your own creativity, and then add Feng Shui, your inspiration and a dash of the energies of the Chinese New Year.
